Today is National Endangered Species Day and its important to acknowledge all the critically endangered species out there, including the lemurs. Madagascar is considered a biodiversity hotspot and has only about 10% of its original habitat left. Human activity pressures have been the culprit to the loss of 90% of the forests. With this ever-decreasing habitat, Madagascar’s lemur species have become the world’s most threatened group of mammals.
